During the Elizabethan times, there was a large variety of food that was presented to the people of the time. However, the poor were limited with their options due to their financial struggles. The poor had a diet which included various types of food such as fish, bread, cheese. Their prefered drink during a meal was ale, a type of beer they drank. These foods were the ones they ate because they were easily accesable. The fish could simply be fished out of water nearby, while the bread and the cheese were made easily with types of grains, while the cheese was made from the mlik from animals. As there were limited choices for food, they had more healthy than unhealthy choices, which showed because a lot of the poor were skinny.
