Desserts during the Elizabethan Era was a big part of their lifestyle. For the most part, desserts were eaten by the rich and the royal members. The desserts that they ate included such desserts like pastries, tarts, cakes, creams, custards, and other foods filled with sugar and various types of syrup. THe desserts they ate were Renaissance drink recipes often called for wine, spices, fruits, and large amounts of sugar or honey for sweetening, and drinkers often prefered their bevarages to be very sweet with their desserts.
